I am just back from the BBC Food Show in Birmingham and m totally high! on food i mean 🙂 so was so so eager to post something right away so took up this one from my drafts. I know this is quite a regular dish and pretty simple to make too, but i think this is one dish i make really yumm, thanks to my mom, and i really love it too.. but beware if ur on a diet (altho onions are very good for it) this one needs lotsa oil n butter to make it taste good and most of all give it that glitter!
Cooked Rice – 1 cup
Spring (green) Onions – 5 to 6 – chopped well
Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 2 tsp
Garlic – 1 clove – chopped into bits
Green Chillies – 2 to 3 – slit in between
Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
Butter – 1 to 2 tbsp
Oil to saute
Salt and Pepper to taste
Saute the jeera, green chillies and garlic in oil. Make sure the green chilli flavor sinks in well.
Add butter, fry spring onions until golden brown, add garam masala and salt.
Now mix the rice and fry well in the heat, toss and serve hot!!
You can use channa masala instead of garam masala, i like the flavor of it! You can also add chanan dal while frying the jeera.
