I had a BIG expectation from French Loaf wen i heard bout it and it was there only in Harrington road…its from the Oriental Group and supposed to serve something French i presumed it be a really sophisticated cafe… A bakery by name is still just a bakery…lets call it Adyar Bakery or McRennett..something in that line.. i realized it wen i went to the Velachery outlet itself and didnt expect much from here either…they don have make-ur-own-sandwich thing which was the only saving grace in the other outlet…so lets say we ll find typical bakery stuff like veg puffs and so-called pizzas…but it does look like a distant cousin of Barista .. a wanna be cafe types…but the service and the food served don really come up to it!
Otherwise, the cakes are great here. I loved the Lady Eggless cake was yummy and fresh! That is the only reason i cudnt bring myself to give a poor review to this place. But the drink i had was horrible, infact i have a feeling that it was a cocktail and not an orange smoothie..it was that sour!
Ambiance – 4/5
Food – 3/5
Service – 2/5
Price – around 200 bucks for a quick snack
Will i go back again? – only if am left with no other option
9/4, Thir Vi Ka Road, Royapettah, Chennai
Opposite Sathyam Cinemas
Not very impressive, can do a lot better!
