And this is third one in a row of my creations. Mini Bread Cutlets rather bread upma cutlet! All cutlets have bread or crumbs as an important ingredient in it but this one is made of bread and thats why it tastes all delightful. Casually started out with leftover bread and now has become a favourite snack at home and I buy a whole loaf just to make this. Here’s how it is done.

Mini Bread Cutlets Recipe

Ingredients
Bread slices – 7 to 8
Onion – 1 medium sized
Milk – 1/4 cup
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Tomato – 1 medium sized (optional)
Channa dal – 1/2 tsp (optional)
Garam Masala / any other flavoring you want – 1/2 tsp
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Butter to fry
Salt and pepper to taste

Method
Remove crust from bread and cut into smaller pieces.
In a pan, saute onion in butter and add the flavoring.
Now add the bread pieces, a little more butter and fry well.
Now pour in the milk and add sugar, salt and pepper.
Let it form a thick mass and take it off the heat.
When it has partially cooled down, shape into mini cutlets.
Now on a dosa tawa, fry the cutlets on both sides until brown with butter.
Serve with ketchup and chips!

You can use tomato with fried channa dal instead of milk if you want a more desi version!
