When the quality of the tiffin is so good u need an equally good Onion Chutney to go with it, made by the expert herself once again! This is one of Brat’s favourite dishes by this mom and trust me this chutney can make anyone eat, even wen ur least hungry and even wen the main dish is a food u ve hated all ur life.. its a secret chutney that can lure u into eating more and more!!.. here it is … Onion Chutney recipe from my MIL’s kitchen once again…
Onion Chutney Recipe
Ingredients
Onion – 1 or 2 medium sized
Small (sambhar) onions – 8 to 10 pieces
Tomato – 1 or 2 normal sized
Red chillies – 2 or 3 (depending on size of chillies)
Sesame oil – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Method
Chop the onions and saute them in the oil.
Add the red chillies and saute more.
Now dice the tomatoes and add along.
Add salt and saute some more.
Turn off the flame and let it cool completely.
Grind it along with very little water.
Using the small onions makes the chutney more tasty.
You may also reduce the normal of tomatoes and add a lil tamarind paste instead.
