Okay.. we ve had too much of south indian already and i ve decided to post my long pending paneer butter masala recipe today.. this is a everyones-favourite and a restaurant must-try…i made this wen nits and sriram came home and tho i wasnt really sure how it ll come out..it did come out really restaurant style and thats a compliment from nits which can be taken with assurance.. so lets c how my paneer butter masala recipe goes…
Paneer Butter Masala Recipe
Ingredients
Paneer – 200 gms
Onion – 1 large sized
Tomatoes – 3 medium sized
Butter – 4 to 5 tbsp
Cinnamon/cloves/etc. – one or two each
Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 1 tsp
Ginger-garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
Cashewnuts/Badam – 10 pieces each – soaked in milk
Garam Masala/Channa Masala -1 tsp
Red Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Fresh Cream – 4 to 5 tbsps
Salt to taste
Oil to saute
Method
Cut paneer into cubes, fry them in ghee, soak in warm salted water.
Grind the tomatoes and onion in a mixer to a fine paste.
In a pan, add the butter, the masala stuff, jeera and ginger-garlic paste.
Saute well and add the paste and let it cook well until raw smell goes off.
Now add the powders and salt and mix well.
Make a paste out the the nuts and milk and add it to the pan.
Mix well, close with a lid and let it cook.
Add the paneer in between when its cooking, water if needed and close again.
Garnish with the fresh cream and servc hot with any Indian Bread.
